At the beginning of the year we launched our latest Ambassador program – Become an Octopus Ambassador. This is a letter writing campaign dedicated to encouraging our politicians to develop legislation outlawing the creation of Octopus farms in the United States. Firstly, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send this letter to the Governor of your State. We get such a buzz when people contact us to say they have sent off a One Small Step.. letter! We are excited to report that the congress in California have passed a bill making it illegal to create farms for the purpose of harvesting Octopi. It is awaiting the governor’s signature. We also received great news that one of our Senators, who we worked with last year, has co-authored a bill that makes Octopus farming illegal on the federal level. You can read more about it here
